Hiding From My Past

by .Just Jessie.   May 6, 2005

I found this book with pages
That had images inside
And as I kept on reading
I saw a girl running away trying to go and hide

She was hiding from her family
The ones who loved her dear
Even that one special someone
Who was always there

She was running away from everyone
Trying to get away fast
And all the while no one knew
She was hiding from her past

She was looking at her wrists
Scared that someone would see
Concerned that if she told someone
That they would not believe

She was frightened at what they'd think
How they'd take it in
What would become of their relationship
And if it'd be at its end

For someone to know her
And know every secret
Her not being sure
If they could really keep it

Her tears dropped on her scars
As she thought of the blade going deeper
As loud as she was screaming inside
She was trapped in an awe, no one could even hear her

And as I dropped the book
I began to push away
I glanced at the scars on my wrists
Crying in remembrance, of that terrible day

The girl began to look familiar
Someone that I did see
And as I put the images together
I realized that girl was me.

Really good peice, i really like the way that it seems at the begining that you are reading about someone else and that then at the end it turns round.

one comment thouhg is that the line: "I discovered a little girl running away from everything trying to go and hide" seems a little too long.

    overall a brilliant peice

    5/5

Wow...thats really good...I love the way you put the story into a book, and then didn't say til the end that it's your past the book was about.(even though it's in the title) just gave it a neat feeling.
