Empty Seat pt.2

by Fighter (Ariane L.)   May 8, 2005

Rumors spread through the corridors.
Pain read in their eyes.
Tears rolling down their faces.
Sad faces everywhere I turn.

"...car accident"
"It was horrible"
"...so sorry for her parents"
"never would've thought..."

Pieces of conversations
Reach my ears.
It's too much to bare...
It's just too much...

Tears rolling down my face,
Pain read in my eyes,
Invisible from these people.
This can't be true.

I arrive to class,
No one greets me,
No one sees me,
No one acknowledges me.

I sit at my desk,
The teacher takes attendance
And looks at my empty seat.
Sadness reflects in her eyes.

I scream for her,
Yet no one hears.
I grab her shoulder,
But touch nothing...
