Fallen Angel

by Sophie   May 8, 2005

With each morning comes a thousand tears,
Every Grey sky pulls contentment further away from me.
Even when the clouds fail to hide summers dream,
The sunlit path ahead cannot tempt a lasting smile from me.

Raindrops fall around me and I catch them on my fingertips,
With my own shadow for a companion I cry with heaven.
My hands feel like ice its a little colder than I imagined,
A little more lonely than my dreams of this journey.

As night falls I find others in my company,
But they see me as a ghost, I am still alone.
I see myself in their image and search for a cure for this pain.
This cure lies at the bottom of this bottle of poison.

The sun now hides behind the night in shame,
His absence leaves the stars to guide me home.
The last of my pride stays behind as I walk on,
I look to the sky for the wings of a fallen angel.
