Sometimes Best Friends doesn't last forever...

Ironically the person this poem is about is the one that helped me write it. She did a few stanzas. Hope you enjoy.

It's hard to build up trust at first
Afraid you'll get hurt again
But then you find that friend
And things start changing then

She's there by your side
She never lets go
If something is wrong
She'd always know

You think it's too good
To ever be true
That now you have a best friend
Who'll stand there by you

You talk all the time
She knows all your fears
She's always there for you
To wipe away your tears

You feel safer now
Everything seems great
After all your hardships
After that long wait

Now you can't imagine your life
Without her by your side
Because with her you can be you
And you don't have to hide

But then things get weird
And nothing seems the same
People break you apart
Like it's a cruel game

And when she's not there
And you're left all alone
Everything seems so dark
And you're left to face life on your own

You try to fix things
So they're back to how they were
When life had a bright side
When she had you and you had her

But it doesn't work
And you're left to move on
The friendship is a memory
Since now she's gone

It all seems so hard now
You're back to the start
She meant so much to you
Had a special place in your heart

But what do you do
When the whole you can't repair
The friendship is damaged
And now no one's there

The days pass by slowly
And the nights never go
Tears stain her pillow
But she'll never know

It's time to let go now
Let go of the past
Block out those memories
Though you know they'll last

Move on with your life
Let the past fade
She's not your best friend
Not the one you had once made...
