Imprisoned Heart

by Brad Champagne   May 10, 2005

Escaping my prison, breaking the ties,
Uncaging emotions I once thought had died;
Finding true pleasure in love's sweet melody,
Still hesitating to let my heart be free.

A new life now I've found, to live for someone else,
Forgetting my foolish pride, my fortress you have filled.
Among God's heavenly hosts, no angel can compare
To a spirit so beautiful as the one you bare.

I see your sweet gentle face as sunlight at break of dawn;
All pain and confusion melts away forever gone.
Your presence gives me strength to push on through the fears,
And gives love one good chance to risk the heartbreak and the tears.
