Ashes on the wind

by Dead As Yesterday   May 10, 2005

Ashes on the wind they dance and they fly
Like a shadow on my heart when you say goodbye
For me you are everything so pure and pristine
Your beauty so timeless it haunts all my dreams

You are the source of so much joy and of pain
The sun is shining but I’m drowning in the rain
I freely give you myself all of my heart and my soul
But you cast me aside like a toy that’s grown old

You tell me of your dates and I smile and act strong
Inside it tears me apart this is all just so very wrong
If you’d just wait a moment and take hold of my hand
I’d give you the moon, the stars and all that I am

Oh David, this is written beautifully with so much emotion! I'm sorry you're going through such a rough time! I hope she comes around, cause your a great guy....you deserve happiness! Now that I've had my say, these were my favorite parts:

"You are the source of so much joy and of pain
The sun is shining but I’m drowning in the rain"

    and

"If you’d just wait a moment and take hold of my hand
I’d give you the moon, the stars and all that I am"
