Always and Forever, Never

A part of me has been broken,
A part of me has been torn.
I’ve been alone.
Left forlorn.

We used to be simple,
We used to be inseparable.
Then slowly it started fading,
Possibly irreparable.

The word always,
The word forever.
Put them together,
And what you’ll have is never.

We played with these words,
We played with their meaning.
But we are ending up with, I fear.
Towards never, we are leaning.

You’re the only one I care for,
You’re the only one I trust.
I miss you even though your not fully gone,
Losing you is my only fear, I must.

You’re the only one who has stayed,
You’re the only one who knows.
And when your finally gone,
My life will come to a close.

I’m the only one who has been there,
I’m the only one who knows.
Tell me do you remember,
You’ve forgotten I suppose.

So come to your senses.
Cant you see?
That I need you,
And you need me.

I’ll be here always,
I’ll be here for you.
My only question is,
Will you be here for me too?

The word always,
The word forever,
Never put them together.
