Who are you?

by Ali   May 19, 2005

Have you ever been asked
Who are you?
Told about your hobbies
And past?

But that's not who you are
It's not what you are
It's just what you do

The life we live
The choices we make
Our personality
Are the roles that we played

The people we meet
The things we said
It will eventually be
Like it was never there

The drama we live through
The hurts we feel
Which is a great deal
Demonstrate who we are

They aren't who we are
But simply show who we are
They define it
But who we are can not be defined
Through words
Or actions
Or anything else

It's the deeper meaning
It's your soul
It's like making a goal
And a part of your personality
Will show
If you can make it happen
If that's what you'll do

It's your heart
Where your heart is
Because home
Is where the heart is
Isn't it?

If your heart is in hawaii
Or in a certain school
Or with a certain person
Then that is where your home is?

But if your heart is lost
(trust me that costs)
Where is your home?

You're like a bird
You're like a wandering soul
Like a ghost without a grave for you to go

Is your home lost too?
Are you like a speck of dust in the wind?
Is being lost what defines and shows who you are
and what you can be?

Or is it possible
That if home is where the heart is
And the heart is lost
Then Home could be in yourself
That you yourself could be your safety?
That you yourself could be your shelter?
That that's where you can confide...

Heart and soul
Home and goal
They all show who you are

But who you are
Is up to you
And when someonw might ask
Tell them that you are you're heart
You are your actions
You are something original
You are someOne original

You've carved yourself
Into a beautiful sculpture
That no one can really see
But anyone can truly touch

God Bless
