Carry On

by Ben   May 20, 2005

I am screaming lullabies
Waking in the middle of the night
Walking in the darkness of hate
Drifting too far from the reality of fate
The fluorescent lights pierce my eyes
This is the reality of the city I despise.

I can’t escape this hell
Someone above me has cast upon me this evil spell
I’m living each day as it comes
Hoping for a hero to emerge from the sun
Until then we will all just carry on
Just carry on…

Cruising a city where I don’t belong
On the radio, the same old song
Playing again and again
This manufactured city now so broken.

Grey mist rolls in from the sea
Covering this evil, this evil city
The mists rolling up upon me
Disfiguring my body

I’m a mutant to this world
A combination of broken souls
Too many to ever become whole

I can’t escape this hell
Someone above me has cast upon me this evil spell
I’m living each day as it comes
Hoping for a hero to emerge from the sun
Until then we will all just carry on
Just carry on…
