A Lost Best Friend

It is sad to say
The reason I’m writing today.
I just read an article,
About a very desperate girl.

Her name was Mary Sue,
She died at age thirty-two.
It says she was a talented writer.
In her battle with depression, a great fighter.

She leaves behind a husband,
Who says his life is now at its end.
She had three children,
1 girl and 2 who think they’re men.

She has been battling depression since her teen years.
When her best friend walked out of her life, she began to disappear.
They were really great friends.
To bad their friendship came to a startling end.

Sixteen long years after they met,
Mary was strangled by her emotion, her plan was set.
She slit her wrists; the cuts had been much deeper than,
The ones she had in her teens, oh how the blood ran.

In her suicide note she said she was tired of hanging on.
Maybe her former best friend will realize what she left when, she was gone.
She said, she was sorry to her family and friends.
It wasn’t their fault, her life she brought to an end.

You see at this time I was crying,
It was when I first began dieing.
I was the friend that ruined her life.
I am the one, who made her want to end her life.

I haven’t even thought of her in many years.
How could I have let that friendship disappear?
I’m writing this to say that all can learn a lesson about friends.
Say your sorry, if you don’t you’ll regret it in the end.

Please! Do it for me.
If not do it for Mary.
I have life the rest of my life with the shame,
Because for her suicide I am to blame.
