Game of Pretend

by *HauntedByMemories*   May 23, 2005

Remember when you were a little girl
Playing all those games of pretend
When the smiles went on for forever
And the laughs never seemed to end

Well lets try that one more time
Let your imagination be your guide
Hopefully it will finally help you
Understand the pain I feel inside

Pretend my life is like a bottle
Inside is filled with memories and tears
Each passing day adds more
As the bottle is filled over the years

Each time someone tries
To open up the cap
Trying to free what’s locked inside
Trying to fix that gap

Is when I pull back from the inside
Trying not to let anyone see
For my greatest fear is allowing you
And then you dropping me

If you drop the bottle
And it crashes to the ground
Everything seeps out
But no one hears a sound

You’ve succeeded and the bottles empty
But you’ve left me alone to cry
I have no more secrets, every things out
But you’ve left me alone to die

Now come back to reality
Do you finally understand?
Why I’m holding back
But still asking for your hand…

Please comment and rate, I'm debating on still posting poems, if you like this I will, if not.. then bye
