Anyone???

by ~*^*~ longing to belong ~*^*~   May 23, 2005

Hannah knows her mom is ill,
Still she takes the pills from the window sill,
One at a time,
She swallows them whole,
Escaping the depression,
Taking all in quick succession.

Surely there was a better way out?
Why could no-one sort her out?

Philip sees dad’s hunting gun,
Thinking death might just be fun,
Takes a bullet out the box,
Places it in the silver barrel,
Slowly aiming at his own head,
Pulls the trigger, boom, he’s dead.

Surely there was a better way out?
Why could no-one sort him out?

Mary’s locked inside the bathroom,
Preparing her own bath-time tomb,
Removing the razor from the case,
Bringing her wrist towards the light,
Calmly saying her final goodbye,
Knowing she no longer has to try.

Surely there was a better way out?
Why could no-one sort her out?

You should see our pain,
You should feel out hurt,
You should taste the bittersweet tears,
As finally we face our fears,

Surely there is a better way out?
Is there no-one who can sort us out?

Indeed, you are correct on my poem Your Blood Was Mine :) I just read this one and I found it to be excellently written. You enabled a regular idea to have a tinge of bright color and flavor. Awesome job on this poem. And thank you for your comment :)
