Stranger

Hello stranger,
do you remember me?
we were 13 when we met
we were younger then
happiness came easy
and everything was simple
meeting you was simple
exchanging thoughts were simple
but what do i have left to tell you now?

hello stranger,
would you remember me?
we used to laugh together
we'd make so much noise
the insulted would glare at us
tongues would click
heads would turn
but we didn't give a care in the world besides each other
no, we didn't
but what joy is there to rejoice about now?

hello stranger,
can you remember me?
we were never shy
we never went red
yes, we were beyond, beyond shameless
because with you, there was no other matter
it was in the blood that didn't run up our cheeks
it was in the blood where our love really grew
what more can i bleed for now?

hello stranger,
won't you remember me?
I'm sitting right beside you
can't you see?
