Entwined

What wicked turn of fate
That made us part our ways
And which sweet blessing
Reunites us in this haze
That the mist should clear
And I could see you one more time
I should look down from this mountain
Knowing it was worth the climb
For a friend you once were
And I never let that go
From the first flowers of spring
To the winter’s whitened snow
And if we met one moment
And the friendship still rang true
I would know we’re still together
Still a pair, me and you
And when I’m stranded in a desert
Or lost out at sea
I know who I’ll be thinking of
The one who’ll rescue me
So if we meet in these shaken days
And waken my soul anew
Then the bind shall stay unbroken
And I’ll stay linked with you

--Loved those lines! Amazing job and I'm glad you steered clear from the usual rhymes and ideas of friendship.5/5
