Another Tomorrow

by Ariana Moreno Covarrubias   Jun 4, 2005

In my eyes you were the greatest man,
Always trying to do the good deed.
I will always remember that you were
Very smart. If I ever needed help with
My homework you were there for me.
I know how hard it must have been always
Working to give me everything I needed.
Your arms so comforting when I was sad,
Always there to lift me up.
There to help me along & to see my everyday
Through. You had the softest look when
I needed understanding but,
Knew how to throw a book
When I needed reprimanding.
And when I was little and
Couldn’t see it was daddy
Who put me on his shoulders.
Then when I was scared at night,
Of the monsters under the bed,
It was daddy who looked under the bed &
In the closet, then pretended to shoot them,
After that it was daddy who lay with next to me
Until I fell asleep.
As for those monsters that frightened me &
Those that still do, my daddy is still here.
You encourage me day by day to be all I can
Be & I hope to someday make you proud.
But being a teen isn’t always easy &
Sometimes it’s not fair, but just know I will
Try my hardest because you raised me good &
You raised me right.
You taught me not just math & literature,
You taught me to love, hope, trust to be
Independent and strong.
You said to stand up for what I believed in &
What I know is wrong. You said to be respectful,
But to always stand my guard.
You left in such a rush, although
You will never be too far.
I know I’m going to miss you &
It’s going to be hard, but isn’t that what life
Is one big playing card.

When I went to sleep Wednesday night
I never thought my life would change forever.
In my mind you were ever strong.
You left a legacy in our hearts.
You’re always in our thoughts & hearts,
Till the day we see you once again.
I will never say good-bye,
Because I will see you in
Another tomorrow,
In another time,
In another place.
I will always love you that’s
One thing you never forget,
Cause I know you will always and forever
Love me just in another tomorrow.

* Please Rate because this is the poem I read last Thursday for my dad's services it would mean a lot to me. Thanks*

I really liked your poem... its so sad... i'm sorry about your dad. And... I just want to tell you that the poem I'll miss you when I'm gone... it's mine. I wrote this poem. I think that your friend still it from me and sent you this poem in an e-mail after. It's my work. I'm not the kind of person who copy the poem of the others. 5/5 for your poem. Keep up the great work. Take care!
