Leaving Existence

by Eden   Jun 6, 2005

I look at the ground I stand upon...
Look at the dying sun beyond...
See the trees sway in the wind...
Hear my fate respond.

Looking now at deathly arms...
Pale in the moonlight...
Take the knife and drop my hope
A blinding and feral Light.

Television displays blood...
Yet so fake it is...
Stars are truly seen from hell
Where music and acting is amiss.

Sent to heaven, we do not belong...
But from the world, we learn...
Seeing all who die and then live...
Makes me feel alone...and yearn.

Knowing that I fail to die...
Leaves me without rapture...
Leaves me broken in the ice
And leaves my soul to capture.

In the shadow of the sun,
I cannot see at all.
For the Light strikes at my face
And makes me feel so small.

Standing in the shadowed moon
I can stand so straight...
I feel all I have to gain...
And grow to a healthy weight.

Sing to me a shallow song...
I will puposefully not listen...
Sit so high upon your golden wall...
As you watch my silver tears glisten.

You are Light and I am Dark...
...Where will we end up?
That we travel different roads is clear...
When will you give up?

I watch in longing as you live...
And I am left in wanting...
You are blind to my unseen shade...
I'm barren, left to my own haunting.

See me now? You see the truth?
I am dead and you alive...
I died long ago this night...
Hell waits for me to arrive.

As I float away from Earth...
Leaving all I cared for...
I try and grasp a hold of you...
...You burn me...and I want more.

Anything just to feel again...
Anything to be free.
Now that I am dead and gone...
Maybe you will see.

I loved you...would you have loved me
If you had seen my face?
Now I'm far from living with you...
...Far from angelic grace.

Hidden in hell, I will live now
Disgraced by all the dead.
But please, I ask you, remember me...
...When you lay down in your bed.
