Photograph

The most interesting thing
I have yet to see
Is something that captures
Your kind smile for me

When your face starts to fade
From the eye in my mind
I pull out the photo
I make easy to find

When my arms long for you
And my chest for your back
The photo I took
Keeps my heart right on track

I take a deep breath
As I look at your smile
And then close my eyes
Has it been a long while?

It's amazing to me
The happiness it brings
A single photo of you
Gives my poor heart it's wings

It's not much of a struggle
With this memory I keep
I look at it constantly
And I don't ever weep

This is how I remember
The last time I saw you
I can sleep through the night
And you'll be there too

So till next time my love
In the flesh we will be
I won't need a photo
For my eyes to see

For Fay
