The Painter

by Lindsey Paige   Jun 9, 2005

Carelessly he makes a mistake,
a hurried black spot.
Now it is there for all to see,
Marring the canvas.

A man pushed by an un-known muse,
seeks a breath of air.
All the while his brush never sleeps,
fueled by his soul.

After his mistakes are revealed,
he can't erase them.
Once he is in the spot-light,
he'll paint his escape.

A good painting still can be found,
through confused lines.
Drawn up in a manic hurry,
it's his life's portrait.
