Eyes of the World

by Eden   Jun 12, 2005

Cold
Alone
Truth
Bone
Cold
Beside me
Sold
Destiny

Huddled tight into myself
Sitting frozen on my own shelf
Snake's venom to enter my vein
I don't remember how I came
To be this jack-in-the-box so scared
Making fake laughter; to be so impaired...
No more me tonight or reason to stay
No more breathing out my life's way.
Alone and cut to reveal my mutant soul
Bleeding and sucking my porous goal.
Knees getting weak, my rugburns from the floor...
...Now my kneecaps are red and sore.
Blank fingertips feel for the light
Only to feel nothing but snake's poisonous bite.
Now look at the poison I reap
Just for seeking the light to keep.
In your own way, you tempted me...
Look in my eyes...you know this true to be.
My eyes are not angry, plain, or pissed...
...Forget the trembling lips you kissed.
My eyes burrow deep into my inner
This is what I suffer to be a sinner
I did the best I could for you...I did...
But now you burn down the place where I hid.
Now you see into my eyes...
...The eyes of the world...whom I so deathly despise.
My tears are more than anyone can bear...
...And we thought we can all be left without a single care...
...In the world.
