Temptress

by Lance Hardy   Jun 19, 2005

This passion that comes at night
Sends chills down my spine
The ecstasy overwhelms me
When everything fades to black

Within a silent thundercloud
I’ll close off my existence for the moment
I always crave that luscious fix
Yet sometimes, it becomes uncontrollable

Haunted by beauty is frightening
Fantasies gently embrace
As realities harshly squeeze
Wars rage on with cataclysmic effects

It may all be too late though
The final threads of sand have vanished
I fall into the endless abyss of remorse
To stay in anguish, for eternity
