No one sees

Dreams are keeping me awake at night
I fear the moments my eyes close
When the light dims to darkness
With fears no one knows

My ears are deafened by screams no one hears
My eyes play tricks on me
These hours are haunted by monsters
Monsters no one can see

Sometimes I see a face staring back at me
I know not if they are cursing me
But their mouth is moving, and I’m deaf
Maybe pleading for some sanctuary

Sometimes I feel a hand resting on my back
My blood freezes hurting me
The ice keeps on cutting me
With knives no one can see
