Sweet Little Lindsay

by XoBabyXGirloX   Jun 24, 2005

Lindsay was a lonely girl
With no one at her side
She makes everything seem okay
Even though she's hurting inside.

People always call her fat
But there's nothing she can do
She's dieted and exercised
But never made it through.

Even though she likes her shape
No one else agrees
They say bad things about her
Not knowing how sweet she can be.

No matter what Lindsay does
She still takes in the pain
The teasing and the insults
About how much she has gained.

Although they do not know
How Lindsay really feels
She got fed up with everything
She started skipping meals.

All she ate was little snacks
And nothing more than that
Everyone still teased her though
And still said that she was fat.

But now that she was losing weight
She started to look thin
Her face was turning pale
And her cheeks were caving in.

No longer was she overweight
And no longer was she teased
But she still got no attention
And still, she was not pleased.

Everyone was getting worried
They knew she wasn't right
A girl can't go from being fat,
To skinny overnight.

Now Lindsay eats but nothing
Just so she can look fit
She's become so unhealthy
But her starving, she can't quit.

For a week, her stomach's been empty
And her head has start to burn
Everyone just stares at shock
And her parents are getting concerned.

She's tried so much to lose those pounds
She thought surely she'd be proud
But in the end she wasn't happy
And still didn't fit in with the crowd.

Her pain was overcoming her
She couldn't take it anymore
She grabbed a knife, went to her room
And slammed the wooden door.

Darkness overcame her
As she grasped onto the blade
She closed her eyes, and stabbed her skin
Then looked at the cut she made.

All the pain, she's letting go
The teasing of her weight
There's no turning back now
It's all just too late.

Her heart comes to a sudden stop
As the knife falls from her hand
Later when her parents see
They do not understand.

They had no clue she felt this way
If only they had known
The way she felt about her width
Had never really shown.

Lindsay's death brought many tears
No one will ever forget
How badly they had treated her
And the times they now regret.

Now that Lindsay's gone
Nothing ever seems the same
Everyone who knew her
Gave themselves the total blame.

Lindsay wasn't overweight
And she knew it all along
But once it became a big deal
She figured she was wrong.

The sweetest little girl
Who's life just fell apart
Lindsay will now and forever
Remain in everybody's heart.

This peoms really sad, mostly because it resembles me. You see, Im bulimic and if the girl in the storys true, I know exactally how she felt/feels. Wonderful poem.

    Much Love,
