Trust

by Unseen Exposure   Jun 25, 2005

The way of life is determined by trust
Faith in the wings that keep you up
Belief in the wise dreams of hope
Pulled along by a temperamental rope
A strong wind of complex emotions
Knocks us down into the heartfelt ocean
Faith in oneself will keep you alive
No matter how many complications arise
Visions of gold on the depths of the sea
Distort your vision of what you shall be

Great temptations alike in ones eyes
Keep you steady on your feet
Still not sure of where to begin
No possible way to escape it seems
Inducements come toward you with friendly claws
Stretch out your arm and you’ll be taken in grasp
The truthful ones will not wait for a hand
They are predators in this game for the last
Find their way totowardou with mind in the clear
Disrupts the view of the death all around
Determined to keep you part of their life
Opportune will catch you ‘fore you hit the ground
Don’t show the truthful beings signs of dismay
Realize their care will be true everyday

Ordeals of faith to your heart shall open
Only to be sewed by the threads of trust
Gathered in sporadic movements
Emotions so full and bound to erupt
Today's consequences speak for tomorrow's actions
Whether we face them or turn away;
Sheds no light on the inevitable fact
That the edges of life are sure to fray
Constant changes in stagnant motions
Belief in yourself can reshape the routine
Embedding hope within shallow hearts
Portraying glowing lust in others
As darkness subsides and hate departs
Gather the meaning, the reason for pain
Behind shallow eyes and misguided faith
Accept what you cannot fathom
Learn from the past that you cannot erase.

This poem was written by my friend Ryan, and myself.
