In Darkness

by Brad Champagne   Jun 25, 2005

Through the mist of life's confusion,
A troubled friend is seen in need
Of comfort and a gentle word,
But the efforts go unseen

Lost in darkness with no hope
A wayward soul is found
By the Lord's enduring grace,
Which in friendship does abound.

Council they reject with scorn,
As on they trudge in hate.
They're will to live abates
As their woes they morn.

In the end, opening their mind
They find a burning truth;
The kindness of the few
Is always there forsooth.

Once in night they shun the light
Of the helping hands and hearts.
Idle thoughts belittling souls
And obscuring love's ramparts.
