Stretch My Wings

by undying blusher   Jun 27, 2005

Stretched my tattered wings to fly
Fell flat on my face
Apparently wings have no guarantees
They should put warnings on these things
jump at own risk.
It’s up to you to land on your own feet.

My threadbare wings
All that’s left in ‘em is some light fluttering
But where’s my faith?
Where is the hope in this?
Maybe one day…the wings now torn will be restored
Wounds may heal
Help is near
Stretch my wings to fly
Close my eyes tightly
And let out a nearly silent scream
And then it happened
Instead of crashing down
I rose above the ground
I can fall on me
Stretch my wings
Safely land on my feet
