A Woman Named Fay

by Garrison   Jun 28, 2005

She finds her worth in the company she keeps.
Who by herself, nurtures her children, and instills virtue.
Whose patience is as great as the day is long.
Still finding time to give of herself to someone else.

At the end of the day, her man should count himself lucky.
For she will tend to all his needs to complete him.
He will be fulfilled if he humbly lets her do what she does best, taking care of others.

And in this humble role she lives.
She feels the insecurity that most women feel.
Of not being more than she is capable.
Especially when she falls or fails to be an example.

But does she not realize?
That it’s not being a person with no faults that inspires.
For no one can do that.
It is how she rises each time a wave crashes.

It is in this battle when even tears are shed, that character is found. That breaks the entanglements of our shortcomings.
And gives us hope that we will never be beaten.

Her beauty both inside and out, could easily captivate any man that would dare to know her.
For to truly know her would be to love every aspect, of a woman who has come back from the brink

She’s a fighter at heart who has made mistakes.
And now dusts herself off to face another day.
This is not a fighter like the Roman soldier of old.
But of a beautiful pillar that you can count on to be there

She is like a mountain, majestic and strong.
With a beauty that touches the heavens.
And simply leaves you breathless.
Yet if the mountain were gone, you’d undoubtedly notice.

Such is the value of this great mother, sister, daughter and friend. She can laugh and cry with the best of us.
And her eyes tell a story, of a woman named Fay
