Hidden Emotions

by sHaTtErEdMiStAkE   Jun 29, 2005

You say you're happy and cheerful,
Yet I can see the hurt in your own eyes,
You loved him with all your heart and more,
But now you keep your pain in disguise.

I know exactly how you feel,
The regret you sense each and every day,
The guilt you have inside your mind,
Of how you let him walk away.

I've been where you are now,
Standing exactly in your place,
Crying those same hurtful tears,
Watching them fall slowly down my face.

I don't know how to help you,
I can't even seem to help me,
We both hide our true feelings,
So no one else can see.

Yet I can see your emotion,
Hidden deep in their disguise,
Spoken without any trace of words,
But hidden behind your hazel eyes...

That is such a nice poem for your friend! It' so weird, we can experience something yet still not know how to help someone else in that same situation! 5/5 on a great write!
