Long E-Mails

by Heather   Jul 1, 2005

Write me back,
Call me tomorrow.
I check my e-mail,
There's nothing but sorrows.

I write another one,
And in it I say, "it's over".
I check my e-mail the next day,
And find something i discover.

An e-mail asking me why I said this,
Why I won't give him another chance.
"I don't want to be the tiny twig,
And you being the mighty branch.
I wanna be the one you talk to,
Whenever you have a doubt.
Because I am your girlfriend,
And that's what our love's about.
I tried so hard to keep my promise,
But you stepped over the line.
I am sick of saying that i forgive you,
I'm sick of giving you another try.
I don't want to try again,
I just can't take the pain.
Because I know if I do,
it will only happen again.
I wanna close this e-mail,
and never open it anymore.
Because you weren't looking to fall in love,
You were only looking to score."
