Santa's Sleigh

by Tom Cheriyan   Jul 4, 2005

The snow fell around the tree
On Christmas day
A day when spirits of people roamed free.
Then I heard the jingle of bells from a sleigh,
In a distance, I saw Santa sat stuck on the highway.

Children smiled at him in glee,
Whilst motorists waved their fists to shoo him away.
A police chopper appeared from the distant sea,
And landed noisily, by Santa’s sleigh.

Shouted the policeman to Santa, “You’re blocking the roads, can’t you see?”
Yelled Santa, “Rudolph has run away and the others have gone for a wee,
Well, that’s just made my day!
So Mr. Officer, is there anything else you can do for me?”
