Why is it Hard to Say Goodbye?

When it's time to say goodbye,
Sometimes all you can do is cry
When you have a best friend
That just won't stay till the end.

A friend has to move away.
You wish they didn't tell you today;
It wasn't going well anyway.
You didn't even know what to say.

You thought you'd be together;
Together forever.
But that all had to change.
This just seemed too strange.

They knew each other since age three.
This made the girl so unhappy.
Always there through thick and thin;
She didn't know where to begin.

When it was time to say goodbye,
Oh, how it made her cry.
Tears of sadness only.
She felt so lonely.

They had such a great friendship
But she was gone and that was it.
Since that day she wondered why,
Why it was so hard to say goodbye.
