Death of a Friend

by lisa marie   Oct 29, 2003

You were cool as could be.
You were so special to me.
Your the friend i'll never forget
Your the person im so thankful i met.

We go way back in the day
And still remian friends today
You always had my side
You were there when i cried

As the years passed by
I looked at you in a different way
It almost made me cry
You didn't know what to say

You finally realized you wnated me too
We were meant to be
You knew exactly what to do
You came up and said please take me

Forgetting about our old friednship
I hapily agreed
You leaned over and kissed my lips
Your all i'll ever need

Or so i thought so
Everything was going great
Until you cancelled our date
You told me it was urgent; you rilly had to go

I didnt understand why;
You wouldnt even tell me
You called me that night sad as can be
You told me that your dad, was about to die

I was speechless without a clue
For a second i felt your pain
I was shocked and going insane
I dindt know what to do

I told you that i had to go
I had a game i couldnt miss
You really wanted me to know
Why you were telling me this

I then hung up the phone
You were depressed and all alone
You needed me and i wasnt there
It seemed liek i didnt even care

You hung yourself and took your life
My life fell apart
The pain was like a knife
Going through my aching heart

I wrote a note to your family that read
Im sorry for your losses;my tears are in the rain
Your son, nefew, cuzin thats dead
Im just sorry for casuing so much more pain

I hope that you'll forgive me
For all that i have done
he was as special as can be
So i took my life with my dads gun

Maybe i will see him and ill let him know
How much you loved him so
Tell my parents i love them too
Tell them sorry, its what i had to do.
