Who is Like God? part111

by Michael D Nalley   Jul 8, 2005

The creature puts his thoughts on the line
I drink the blood of Jesus, as if were wine
And I consume His flesh as if it were mine
Though I am not worthy to consume the divine
Should I not drink from the Potters cup when I dine?

He does not wish to criticize those who would put him in a bubble
You know that Peter said to Jesus, You must avoid this trouble
He knows his Savior is unique, and he is not his double
And the authority of the church is coming out of the rubble
But love does not rejoice in what is wrong, but rejoices with the truth
So to criticize the mistakes of authority is somehow uncouth

But sometimes he feels like the monk who had to hide
The love of a woman he felt way down deep inside
But because of his vows he knew he could never make her his bride
Yet in spirit she would never leave his lonesome side

But he put his blood on paper for anyone to read
The truth is still the truth no matter what your creed
And I would never sell the blood of a poet out of greed
Because a poet does not write for money he does it out of need

Ah the arrogant poet he tells this story with pride
As if he could see way down deep inside
Of the mysterious woman, and the one who finds it hard to hide
From the poet deep inside of him, he hopes he has not lied
