Who is Like God? part 1

by Michael D Nalley   Jul 8, 2005

There once was an unhappy creature, who, had buried himself in oil
He was becoming tired of living, and he longed to rest in the soil
Nearly destroyed by the evil demon of sloth, he was a creature that was void of form
Until he was enchanted by the beauty of a woman, who seemed to him very warm

Her beauty, cast a spell on him, that he somehow did not want to escape
Because it motivated him to unbury himself, and somehow change his shape
Of course he was not ungrateful, but still he was a little bit curious about this power
Which came from the lady who had the magic of a sorceress, and the beauty of a Flower

Totally enchanted he tried to search her soul
And to see inside of her was his only goal
He was surprised to find, she said she hated men
But she had the strange urge to seek them in their den
The creature had hopes that he had really nothing much to fear
He thought of himself as a child, who had endured many a year

He was confused by the thought of seeking that which you hate
And hoped she was not serious and this was not her fate
He had been down that road, and knew it only leads to hell
Way down deep in the pit, where the seven demons dwell
The creature knew it is right to hate the evil of sin and hell
But thought these were the only exceptions as far as he could tell

He remembered, the story of paradise lost, very well
He was named after the archangel assigned to expel
The angels from heaven who followed the master infidel
The one who rid heaven of evil and cast it into hell
He knew he had not the power of the archangel of heaven
Only with the Holy Spirit could he defeat the unholy seven
You see in the natural world there is no one who can win
The battles with the seven demons with armor made of tin

One day he saw the mysterious lady claim a holy victory,
Of course, it was with the help of the most Holy Entity
It was over the demon of anger, who missed a perfect opportunity,
To seize her when she was attacked for being witty,
By someone who was not acting so very pretty
It was then, he saw the beauty in her, that could last for an eternity
The beauty, that he thought, must have been put in her by a Holy Entity

He couldn’t describe, the ecstasy he felt in his heart
When she looked at him and the laughter began to start
And he shared beautiful laughter with his sweetheart
Such a beautiful feeling, it couldn’t be captured by poetic art,

It made him think of beauty, that no one should defile
The beauty that dances on this earth for a short while
Like the beauty of the mysterious lady with the warm smile
Or like the beauty of a young couple walking down the aisle
The beauty he had dreamed about since he was a juvenile
