A Fantasy

Last night I had this fantasy
This dream of me and you
And all the time it felt real
I almost thought it was true

Once upon a starlight night
We walked upon the beach
Stars were shining up above
Being so close in our reach

Hand in hand on the sand
Birds singing here and there
The water tickled our feet
With our talk as light as air

The sky was dark and clear
As I was in your embrace
And through all darkness
I saw light inside your face

Never then would I imagine
That we would be together
I would give up everything
Just to stay with you forever

The waves wash my doubts
As you look into my eyes
I get lost inside your heart
Underneath the starry skies

You lean closer to my face
My own body begins to heat
And at that special moment
I never felt more complete

The kiss was like paradise
And I heard it in your voice
From that moment I knew
You were my only choice

We lay together on the sand
Counting every single star
You promised you’d love me
Whether you’re near or far

Suddenly you slipped away
Into the depths of the sea
I started to run in after you
And it tried to swallow me

Though darkness I saw you
And I quickly took your hand
Your breathing was labored
As I pulled you back to land

We then lay there together
As we were peacefully before
Suddenly I turned to see you
You weren’t there anymore

I heard this voice in the air
A sound so warm and near
And “I love you” became
Just A whisper in my ear

Last night I had this fantasy
This dream of me and you
And all the time it felt real
And I still wish it was true
