Catastrophe

by Sarah Ann   May 10, 2009

I've created a catastrophe
Living, and my heart won't bleed
Hooked up, hooked on, and guaranteed,
I know it has the best in me
Pulled out and dragged in by my feet
Addicted and nourished with greed,
No sanctuary. No retreat.

Shackled and trapped, ready to blow,
Strangled out pain as heat turned cold,
Put blind faith in God that i'll never be sold
Believe it or not, the same story was told
On numerous times..and it never gets old

Stripped of identity, life, and emotion
No excuse being stagnant, so I go through the motion,
Interrogating loyalty and utmost devotion
To nothing. I'm living. My options are open
What's it to you? Another person battered and broken.
Beaten from breathing, but never mute or soft spoken

There's no escaping, from the deepest hole ever dug,
You don't concern me, but I will hurt the people you love
