All i do is for you

by madeleine   Jul 10, 2005

I have changed, you said
Funny.
You never knew me enough
To make judgments like this

You have heard my laughter
You have seen my joy
But have you ever seen me cry
For the person I love?

You thought that I never care
You thought that I don’t know love
But this is just a facade
To show you that I’m strong, mom

When night falls
I drown in my guilt
Only to repeat it why the sun is up
I’m sorry, mom

Ignorance is bliss - its true
I’m just trying my best to protect you
And doing the best
To keep you from the confusing truth, mom

You’ll be able to enter
Once you let your pride down
But I wish you would never
I want your heart to be whole, mom

I hate the nights
And I detest my tears
They expose my darkest secrets
And show that I’m weak

Even heroes have the right to bleed
So, why can’t I be granted of this privilege?
Why do I have to escape?
All I do is for you, mom
