You are gone

by madeleine   May 29, 2006

With a note of sadness, your back was turned.
Leaving me to fight the ghost of the memories
To battle the invincible
- the ghost that I feared, loved, and treasured.

I gave you my heart, my soul, my life
â??Treat them with careâ?? I said. But you never did.
Now that I am crushed and battered,
My hunger is for you to be wearied, dead.

The eyes that gave me love once,
Is just an abandoned well now- Empty. Lifeless.
I detest the world that striped you of any love
That had brought upon so much melancholy.

In my helplessness, I reached out for you
â??I am sorry I have to goâ??
My spirit is wrecked by your absence
My vigor to live is diminishing too.

My sorrow is more than what words can say
It is beyond you and me.
It is the bitter taste of losing
And the intense fear of waking to an empty bed
