Wandering/wondering

The smile on my face is not a match to the hurt in my eyes
its like two people
joined in body but not in soul
to others we are one
but to myself I am only the hurt not the happiness
the true feelings come out when I talk to you
you say you understand and you want to help
but you feel miles away
when will I rejoin civilization and feel what I say I feel
instead of just pretending
or in reality are you in the same barren land I search through every day of my life
will our paths collide and we will really understand one another
and start to travel towards this place which until now has just been a dream?
