Flames of Remembrance

by writer girl   Jul 14, 2005

The flames were blazing,
people screaming all around,
screaming for their loved ones,
that are yet to be found.
There is no air, only smoke,
making breathing hard,
there must be a way out,
of this building being charred.
I loose consciousness for a moment,
and then i hear a sound,
a man is calling my name,
i know i will be found.
He takes a moment to find me,
and when he did i was glad,
but only for a moment as he says,
"Lets get you out of here so i can find your dad".
he hauled me through the flames,
and to the opened door,
rescuers come to help me,
but i have fallen to the floor.
"Where is my father"? I shout,
i hope they find him soon,
"please get him out..."
for inside he is doomed.
When they came back out they said,
that he was trapped deep inside,
they could not get him out,
and that is where he died.

Some time has passed now,
and i think that I'm ok,
even though he has passed,
in my heart he will always stay.

please rate and comment so i can make it better.

That was very well done. I lost my mom in a car wreck, so I know how you feel. Just keep writing from your heart and you'll never write a bad poem.
