The Boy and Girl

by Thomas Key   Jul 17, 2005

Two people sitting side by side,
watch the horizon as the sun begins to rise.

They sit on her bed,
giving soft kisses to each other's heads.

The smell of breakfast
leaks into the room
but Neither are hungry,
not this morning.

Flowers and cut out hearts lay on the floor,
perfectly cut and hand picked,
for the girl,
sitting before the boy,
to prove her love for him.

Their friendship and their love,
constant and true,
kept them together,
through and through.
