Nothingness

by Renee   Jul 17, 2005

A smeldering, foul odor fills my empty stomach.
gnats, eating away at my entirety.
Not a single soul, but my own.
Surrounded by nothingness.

Not a comfortable nothingness,
not cold, damp, dark.
not eerie.
Not that empty pit you get after your hearts broken.

It's a nothingness where,
you're forced to eat your insides.
Where you tear away at your flesh,
because it becomes to hot to wear.

The place you never run to.
Because when you're there,
you have nothing to hold on to.
Nothing, noone. not even yourself.

It's a sort of, last resort.
The place you are put when the world has deserted you.
When they don't want you,
So you're put to work. Slaving to survive.

And when you finally return,
Where sanity is common,
You can't wait till you're put back in that nothingness.
The nothingness of your mind.
