Listen

by Mira   Jul 22, 2005

I am trying to

I try to say

I have to say something

I need say

I am trying to need

I NEED to say something

Won't you listen?

(Yes)

I am

I think about

Well

I think about bad things

(What sort of bad things?)

I think

I hate my

I need

I think I need

(Calm down. Think through what you say before you say it.)

*Silence*

I...

*Silence*

Need...

*Silence*

A...

*Silence*

(A what? What do you need?)

*Silence*

(If you don't say anything, how can I help you?)

*Silence*

I don't want to talk anymore.

(That's fine.)

*Silence*

I need help with something.

(Ok.)

*Silence*

I wrote something the other day.

(Oh really?)

Yeah. It was about a frog.

(What did the frog do?)

It died.

(How did it die?)

I don't know yet.

(Why don't you know?)

Because the frog never seemed alive to begin with.

(So the frog was dead in the first place?)

*Silence*

Seems that way.

*Silence*

I want to help the frog.

(How would you help something that's dead?)

Well maybe the frog isn't dead. Maybe the frog is just sleeping. And it looks dead.

(Maybe.)

So maybe I should help the frog. I should give the frog food and stuff like that. I dunno what frogs need though.

*Silence*

Frogs are ugly though.

(Why do you say that?)

They are slimy and gross and they hop around. They aren't normal.

(Frogs are unique.)

No. They are weird. Maybe I shouldn't help the frog. It's just another animal.

(Maybe. Or maybe it's special. What other animals can breathe through their skin?)

Not many, I guess.

*Silence*

So the frog isn't ugly?

(Do you think frogs are ugly?)

Yeah.

(I happen to like frogs.)

Why?

(Because they are unique. They live in water. I don't think they are ugly. I think they are exotic.)

Oh.

*Silence*

I think I should just let the frog die. And leave it dead.

(Why?)

It doesn't deserve to live.

(Why?)

Because it's ugly and gross.

(Is that a good reason for a frog to die?)

It is a good enough reason for me.

*Silence*
