Three Perfect Words

by Frozen Dreams   Jul 23, 2005

The pounding of little fists,
So loud inside my heart,
They’re the feelings I shut up,
Too ashamed to start,

To think of what could happen,
If I set them all free,
My feelings for you,
Slowly weakening me,

I get a swoop in my stomach,
When I think ahead,
Of when they all burst out,
And I fill with dread,

For when I look on your face,
So perfect and pure,
The truth will spill out,
Of that I’m sure,

But will you turn away,
And leave me empty and hollow,
Or will you return what I’ve said
I’ve hardly dared to follow,

The dreams that I’ve had,
Of you saying yes,
I’d be in glorious heaven,
And out of this mess,

The sweetness I’d savor,
If I was your girl,
Would be so overwhelming,
Our wings would unfurl,

We’d be flying high,
Over mountains and streams,
We’d have grasped all our hopes,
And accomplished our dreams,

So when I next see you,
And know my lust is true,
I will grant you three perfect words,
I love you.
