Here I sit

by skyfox   Jul 31, 2005

Here I sit my work is done
Heavy weighs the emptiness of my life to come
No soul mate in whom to bare my soul
Where once was love, now merely a heart wrenching hole

Here I sit as all around new life unfolds
Devoid of any ability to navigate or foresee the path the future holds
Without clear guidance or simple direction I stumble on
Where once were happy expectations, now merely blindly trudging on

Here I sit consumed by thoughts of only you
Distraught by contemplations of a new reality what can I do?
I am overwhelmed; the future is nothing I expected it would be
Where once was comfort, now uncertainty is all there is for me

Here I sit and ponder huge decisions to be made
Crushing is the realization that the hurt and loss refuse to fade
Without even a glimmer of temporary reprieve
Where once was spirited anticipation, now there is only time to grieve
