This Year

I walk down this road
Paved with shattered dreams
Tombstones of lost friends stare up
I've learned that things are never what they seem
Disappointment and adversity lie along this road
A new tragedy at every turn
Way too many good things gone
Way too many lessons learned
Shattered dreams mixed inside sharp glass
Hope is gone from sight
Spend all day and night just hoping
That everything will be alright
We can not count the broken hearts
The too many tears we've cried
The too many lives in turmoil,pain
The too many that have died
I hope theres an end to all this soon
The road paved with broken dreams and fear
Too many problems, too much grief
All too much for just one year.
