Ballerinas

by Stormy   Aug 12, 2005

Pretty young girls,
with tiny waists.
wearing perfect round tutus,
with elegant lace.
sequins and sparkles,
tiaras and crowns.
satin pink slippers,
with ribbons abound.
In the spotlight,
they seem to be set free.
their graceful arms flowing,
faces shining with glee.
All of their eyes twinkling like stars,
AS they reach for the sky.
Then they leap through the air,
As though they can fly.

This is my world,
of glitter and shine.
My dream, my gift,
the purpose of mine.
