Eternally gone

by tiffany   Aug 12, 2005

Two parents, divided before the birth of a little one,
caused almost every problem for her under the sun.

They didn’t know what they were doing at the time,
they were too young, they thought this way it would be fine.

For in time their divorce caused a lot of hardship,
the girl tried many roles, but none of them fit.

The hate between her parents made her feel unloved.
She didn’t know where to go when push came to shove.

When it came to trusting people, her internal fight,
if her parents couldn’t love, how could she get it right?

Not being able to deal with anymore rejection,
she slipped further and further into her mind’s protection.

A make-believe world built up in her head,
the real world was too tough, so she had this one instead.

Eventually the fiction had grown too strong,
she was trapped in her mind, eternally gone.
