Thoughts

by BreatheNoMore   Aug 14, 2005

She sits before the ersatz beach
Thinking about dinner
And wondering about the curious one that sat in her sight
Wondering
If he’s wondering about her tonight

Head lights churning on the hill across the bay
Scattered street lamps flicker, orange-yellow
Put the mid-nights passing on display

Reflections on the water
Lacking shape and definition
Her twisting thoughts and twirling belly
Easing towards another fatal collision

Crickets chirping in a foreign location
Engines growling in the distance
Sensing that there’s someone watching
Decoding whether their approach holds curiosity or belligerence

Two entities wander into the picture
One that holds an overwhelming desire to take flight
And one that wonders about the curious one
Wondering if she’s wondering about him tonight
