Then and Now

by BreatheNoMore   Aug 14, 2005

Devastated trigger of self-destruction
So we meet again
I promised you to be a life I’d long forgotten
And now I’m drawing similarities of now to then

Has existence been duplicated
To play once more to torture my resistance
My productive intentions have run dry
My curiosity and inspiration nonexistent

I’ve re-adopted my forbidden outlook
No design in place to come alive
Dreams, ambitions, no not any longer
The day she disengaged the day I died

Must I feel need to put things to an end?
For I am a mauled animal
With no one to heal the splintered wounds
I am a battered remains
She left me to bleed, to suffer, to swoon

Pent up with pain that must be heard
Shrill unsettling screams to release
But I reside in this unoccupied forest
And I am but a falling tree
