Once so far and long ago...
...Yet only months have passed...
A tender, vibrant love did show
And we made you feel no pain.

Once so far and not so near...
...Our lips conjurred rivers of passion...
Now you make like you feel no fear
...When you say you'll love me again.

I said come with me...and you'll grow
You followed...the narrow bleeding road...
But then you turned when I was shunned
And turned away from your God's "wrath".

Now I see your hands are bound...
Though you may feel free.
Bought by the price of loneliness you've found...
Please don't let this be.

Unable to touch your dying skin
Your warmth is failing now...
What can I say that will help us win...
